Raw falafel balls- suitable for all ages

I love coming up with new recipes, these are great as a high protein snack or as part of a meal. My 10 month old loves them

1 tin organic chick peas
1 clove garlic
Handful of coriander
Glug of olive oil
4tbs water
Pinch of salt
Juice of half of a lemon
1/2 sweet potato lightly steamed
1/2 cup of oats
1 cup of Ground seeds ( I use ground flax, pumpkin and sunflower seeds)

Stick everything other than the ground seeds in the blender and blend till smooth. Roll into ball and dip in ground seeds so they coat it. Place on a lightly greased baking tray and place in the oven at 100 so as not to break down the enzymes for 10 mins then turn off oven and open door and leave for 10 more mins the serve.

Quinoa balls and raw mushrooms- baby food

Today’s experiments went down really well with Eliah so I thought I would share it.

Quinoa balls-
For this I used some of the quinoa we were eating to make these.

First cook up quinoa till soft and leave to cool.

1 tbs mix seeds(sunflower,pumpkin)
1tsp tamari sauce
1/2 avocado

While that is cooking soak a mixed handful of sunflower and pumpkin seeds in water for 20 mins, drain water and add other ingredient and blend till smooth. Mix into the quinoa and make into balls. Leave in the fridge to set.

(optional- you can roll the balls in ground flax seeds if you like)

Raw Mushrooms
Eliah absolutely loved these

A few mushrooms
1 tbs tamari
1 tbs olive oil
Pinch of fresh coriander

Mix all together and leave mushroom to marinade for 30 mins or longer then serve

Super rainbow juice for all the family

I really think that if you start the day with good nutrition you are onto a winner.. Not only that but I like to know I have given my 7 year old and my 10 month old a blast of goodness so I don’t worry about what they eat the rest of the day so much.

So this is my family rainbow juice
I try to put as many colours in it.

1 tbs pumpkin seeds ( high in efa’s and anti parasitic and great for the digestion)
1 tbs ground flax seeds ( high in efa’s giving the brain a great start)
1 tbs de shelled hemp seeds ( more efa’s)
1 carrot
1 apple
1 pear
Handful of raw red cabbage
Handful of kale
1 raw beet root
1 banana
1 cup of water

And anything else you want to throw in

I use the vitamin blender and then strain thru a muslin bag and drink.

Garlic honey – immune boosting remedy

So I wanted to make something to boost us all up before school goes back as it seems very common for colds to go around when the monkeys return.
This recipe is soooo simple and amazing for you.
Take a tsp a day when you want to boost your immune system. This is also good for any parasites like threadworms. All parasites hate garlic

1 glove of garlic finely chopped and placed in a jar and covered with honey and the juice of half a lemon.

Leave for at least 2 days to infuse- the longer you leave it the stronger it will be. You can make any amount you like just always make sure the garlic is covered by the honey as this will preserve it

Ps eat parsley after to get rid of the smell.. Works wonders and is also amazing for you

Raw caramel, chocolate and nut bar

I had a craving for chocolate this evening so thought I would make up a new recipe. This makes a lovely layered cake bar.

Base;
1 cup cashews
1 cup of pecans
3 tbs of maple syrup or agave
1 tbs water

Blend the nuts first into a powder then add syrup and water, making a paste. Spread this out in a pan and place in the freezer for 30 mins.

Middle layer;
1 cup of dates or raisins
1 cup of water
1/2 lemon
1 tbs coconut oil
1/2 cup of coconut nectar

Pre-soak the dates and raisins in lemon juice and water for 30 mins. Strain and blend with all of other ingredients. Add date water little by little if need be to get a smooth texture. Spread this onto of the base mixture and freeze again.

Chocolate topping;
1/2 cup of raw cacao powder (or unsweetened, organic cocoa powder)
1/2 cup coconut nectar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup cacao butter (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp reishi mushrooms (optional)

Blend all ingredients together until creamy, then spread onto of other layers and freeze to set.
Then, slice into bars and devour.

Homemade veggie burgers

I made these for my two boys yesterday to get some calcium rich leafy greens into them. They were a hit
Great to eat cold as a snack too for babies
As with most of my recipes you can play with this and use what you have in

Makes about 8 smallish burgers

2 potatoes – boiled so as soft and ready to add.

1 cup of quinoa- rinse and cook

Handful of kale
Handful of spinach
1/2 a leek
1 stick of celery
1 glove of garlic (optional for yogis)
1 carrot
Handful of coriander

Lightly sautee the garlic, leek, and celery in coconut oil preferably or olive oil till soft. Turn heat off and mix in other veg finely chopped. Mix together so they get coated in the flavour.
Blend all together and add the potatoes and quinoa and coriander. Pour into a mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup of oats. Leave to cool. Make into patties and either lightly fry or bake in the oven.

These might work in a dehydrator for the last part. Let me know if you try it
