Detox guide

With the developments that have been made in science it has been shown that negative mental attitude, poor nutrition and inadequate exercise all lead to the build up of toxins.

The recipe below is a 50 year old detox recipe although i have added the ginger and garlic to it as they are also powerful cleansers.. this should be drunk every morning upon waking. This recipe can be used as part of your daily routine or as part of a bigger detox. Always consult your doctor if you are on medication.

2 tbs lemon

2 tbs maple syrup

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp garlic

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

10 oz. water (hot )

Below are a list of amazing detoxifying foods although a diet of fruits and vegetables will help your body to detox.. Before attempting a detox it is important to gentle prepare by eliminating caffeine, alcohol, meat and wheat for a few days before starting to minimize headaches and uncomfortableness. Also remember to drink plenty of water while doing any detox diet as this eases any symptoms and flushes toxins out quicker

Watercress- helps to energize liver cleansing enzymes and is a natural diuretic

Lemons – full of vitamin c and alkalizing. drinking this in the morning helps to balance out the acidity of foods we’ve consumed

Flaxseeds- these are full of fibre so help the body to eliminate the toxins quickly and easily.. great when added to lemon water.

Apples- the soluble fibre pectin in apples help the removal of heavy metals from the body. They aid the digestion and are a wonderful source of vitamins and mineral….

Dark leafy greens- such as kale, spinach, wheatgrass, are full of chlorophyll and help to rid the body of heavy metals, smog, cleaning products and pesticides…

Artichokes- help promote healthy digestion and good for the liver.

Ginger- this will help the body eliminate toxins and acts as an anti inflammatory

Beetroots- loaded with b vitamins and a host of minerals. They are very good for the liver and the gallbladder helping remove toxins. The high amount of fibre in beetroot improves digestion and helps eliminate bodily waste.

Garlic- antiviral, antiseptic and antibiotic this wonderful sulphuric food is a great detoxifier

Cabbage- cleanses the liver

Alkalizing Detox Soup


1 avocado
1 leek, 1 beetroot
1/2 red pepper
1 cucumber
2 handfuls of kale
1/2 clove of garlic
1 tbs of vegan vegetable Bouillon (yeast free)
Juice of 1 lemon or lime
handful of coriander

Blend ingredients together and serve.
